Space Tokens – Cardano NFT

A gaming project which offers the opportunity to explore the vast universe and earn rewards in doing so.

Concept

Have you ever wondered what’s out there in the vast universe? How all these different planets look like and if there’s life beyond ourselves? Well, I believe that these questions reside in all of us. And we would like to know the correct answers, maybe even experience them ourselves. However, there is a problem to that, it will possibly take a very long time till we’ll be able to start interplanetary travelling. So our dreams of space exploration are nowhere near – though is that the case?

Space Tokens is a project that made it possible from the comfort of your own house. A Play-to-Earn NFT game that will create a 3D galaxy filled with planets and creatures alike.

In particular, the project has a specific structure of exploration, which is quite simple, yet very intriguing. Let me explain:

First of all, you will need to start exploring the different planets in the Space Tokens universe. It may seem easy to you now, but know that there are a lot of planets out there. Furthermore, as every new discovery has it, the land exploration of a particular planet begins. And here is where you start claiming ownership of the lands (minting). Last but not least, we will research the different life forms of each planet, which will conclude our exploration.

Additionally, the project will add the very important feature of mining, as well as crafting. Mining will allow you to pull minerals from your planets, which will then be used for crafting other useful devices.

Overall, we have a very interesting exploration game, with practically infinite possibilities. But do you know what the best part is? There is an Alpha version already available.

Check the Alpha version in the Artwork/Graphics section below.

Team

Big Think Technologies is the mother company behind Space Tokens and three members form the core team: Alex Zorkin, CEO, Stacey Goulet, Product Lead, and Dan Goulet, CTO.

It is very important that they share their names and a brief bio so that we know who runs the project. Also, I would like to note here that this information is available on the whitepaper, but I think it would be nice if there was a separate team section on the website, too.

Furthermore, there is a group of artists, developers, and marketers that help the core team build this project, but we currently have no more information about their identities.

Discord & Twitter

Even though the project isn’t that new, the community is quite average in size. Also, the engagement levels in Discord are pretty good, but I wouldn’t say the same for Twitter. From what I’ve seen the team is so focused on developing the game that I guess they forgot that collaborating with other projects is equally important. Because without a community, you cannot have a successful game. No matter the quality. And I believe that this may be the reason that the community is not growing and the activity is at near low levels.

Artwork / Graphics

Since we are talking about a gaming project, its artwork concerns everything about the game. For the moment we can mainly see the planets, land pieces, tools and spaceships. Also, the Alpha version of the game begins with a character inside a spaceship who moves around to find its computer and begin his explorations. All pieces are 3D with interesting details and colors. Briefly, the result seems professional and as the project develops, I expect it to be even better.

Alpha version:

Website

I can confidently say that the website is magnificent. It contains all necessary information and it’s quite professional. However, I noticed some minor details which I found a bit annoying. Specifically, the menu bar at the top disappears as I scroll down, which means that if I want to return to the top I have to scroll manually. I am just pointing that out to help with user-friendliness.

Roadmap

We can find a brief roadmap on the website, and a detailed one in the whitepaper. The detailed one follows chronological sequence, and it shows what is already done and what is planned to develop until the first quarter of 2023. Some interesting plans are the marketplace launch and the Beta phase of the game.

For more details check the roadmap here.

Closing Thoughts

Summing up, Space Tokens is a P2E exploration game with a working product and a transparent, as well as hard working team, that are quite inclined to offer professional results. However, we cannot ignore the fact that the community is still below average, even though the project dates back to September 2021. So, the team needs to work harder on growing a loyal and organic community.
